She repeated one of the verses. I feel bad for her. A Capella is tough.

she said this afterwards> "I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."

IMO she's a class act and it's really not a big deal in the big picture.

How embarrassing! That was the last thing her career needed. First Bionic, then Burlesque now this.

I'm with you Dan. It was clearly an accident and not worth her getting beat up over.

Hard for me to consider her a class act based on how shes handled her career. Either way, this wasn't the best or worst anthem. More people mess it up than get it right anyway.

I concur that I wouldn't call her a class act, but I didn't have an issue with her messing it up. Stuff happens as you point out.

Everyone's going to flub a bit. I just don't know why they don't pick someone from the Armed Forces to sing that song. There's enough pomp and circumstance already, why so many celebrities?

There is a Marine from the "President's Own" that brings tears to grown Men's eyes when he does the Anthem. Why not have someone like that in Dress Blues do the anthem? I am personally tired of long, drawn out versions from pop stars.

Christina Aguilera has been invited to sing a do-over.

The Brooklyn Cyclones are offering the Staten Island native a chance to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" before one of the minor league baseball team's home games this summer.

I don't really know what the big deal here is,I'll bet most of you didn't even realize the mistake until it was pointed out to you.I sure didn't notice it at the time.

I didn't watch it live but the clip I've seen a couple times since then is always the same one, and you can tell just by watching the reaction of the players.

She can't help it. She was very busy being concerned about her fans. That is she was thinking about them admiring her rather then the meaning or words of the anthem. Yes, poor girl indeed. LOL. She'll be just fine after this.

While I certainly didn't lose any sleep over it I don't think that pointing out a so called "Super Star" flubbing the National Anthem in front of millions of people while trying to personalize it to the point of annoying is nit-picking. Yeah, she's human, yeah we all mess up but we all don't get a chance to make millions while doing so! It's not even so much just Aguilera but the whole over production pop crap that irks me.

So what? Wealth doesn't reduce your chances of screwing up. It magnifies the effects of your screw ups. I'm not saying it shouldn't be mentioned, sure it should, its good workplace or random news. But she shouldn't have to do something to redeem herself for it.

If anything, she has to redeem herself for the crap that is her last album. lol

I couldn't name one single song she ever sang so I couldn't care less about redemption and expect nothing. My point is more about crappy, overblown renditions from pop stars.

Whitney Houston set the standard, now they need to hit rock bottom with the pop star version before they try anything different.

It hasn't been a good year so far for Christina Aguilera. First "Burlesque." Then the National Anthem flub and a stumble at the Grammys.

Now, Aguilera, 30, and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler, 25, were arrested in West Hollywood early Tuesday morning

TMZ reports Rutler was pinched for driving under the influence and Aguilera, a passenger in the car, was arrested for public intoxication, a misdemeanor.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department said Rutler's bail was set at $30,000, according to TMZ. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Aguilera was extremely intoxicated and "unable to take care of herself."
