The XMas 2010 Loot Thread!

Post by YeOldeStonecat »

Wife got me an awesome hand made dresser for our master bedroom Being hand made down in Pennsylvania Amish country, will be here in 2 more weeks via the local country furniture store.

I got the wife a Canopy office set for her home office, already put that together for her, tall standing shelf, filing cabinet, and desk. She's up there re-arranging her office. Must say I was very impressed with the Canopy set as a brand. Solid wood none of that elmers glue and sawdust particle board junk, or pressed cardboard like fake wood..this is all birch.

Got wife and myself some Outlaw low profile 1/2 head riding helmets for the bike. And got her some other Harley logo wear.

Boy got a new skateboard, Gears of War Zune, clothes 'n stuff. And the "Pacific" DVD set....watching that now.

The little one is being dropped off by her dad at 3 today, so her presents aren't opened yet.

So now onto the kitchen...doing buffalo wings now, will start the beef roast soon...doing the "in the oven at 500 degrees...15 minutes..then shut it off...keep door closed
for 2 hours" approach. Take the Harley for a spin. Then the ham.

Happy Holidays to all!

Yeah I'm impressed with it. Got the Mahogany one. If I didn't see the price...I'd have guessed it would have been about 1600-1900 bucks...I can't believe it was just a 600 dollar set (well, 750 after tax 'n shipping). I couldn't find any other set under 1000 bucks that wasn't particleboard or something that wouldn't last.

I got to spend the 24th, 25th, and the 26th off with my family, the first time in about 11 years that I did not have to work. That is my best gift that I got.

I also got the following.
a $25 New Egg gift card (getting a new corless mouse, and some needed other computer cables with that).
A DVD, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
A Wal-Mart $25 dollar gift card ( going to buy more computer stuff)
A $50 dollar Lowe Hardware gift card (going towards a new small 6 ft ladder)
A Wii Game, LEGO STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA a pretty good game.. not bloody at all so good for kids to watch. My 4yr old daughter loves it, just watches me play the game, she has not tried it yet..

I resisted going to wireless for my keyboard and mouse for a while now. I didn't really see the need, especially for the trackball, it never moves on my desk. I didn't see a corded version of this trackball or I would have got it. It's identical to my older Logitech Trackball in shape, it just has a couple of extra buttons on it that I wanted more than the wireless part. I will probably get a wireless keyboard now that I've bit the bullet. That might actually be convenient as I also play racing sims with a Force feedback racing wheel and pedal set. I could just move the keyboard right off of my desk instead of pushing forward to make room for the racing wheel. Trackballs seem to be a love them or hate them kind of deal. Me I can't imagine playing a FSP with anything but a trackball.

My wife got me an official sized portable disc golf basket, which now takes away any excuse I have for lousy putting. :p I setup the basket in my parents' big backyard while we were there for Christmas day and a few of us played disc golf in the yard with glow discs until midnight or so. It was awesome!

I also scored a nice new pair of black dress shoes, a sandwich press, a 12-pack of international beers and a WWII nazi action figure that was more of a gag gift because my wife thinks I'm obsessed with WWII stuff, lol

I got my wife & daughter (and myself) annual passes to the local Disney themeparks.

My daughter made out.. bike, disney pass, several barbie dolls, another American Girl doll, etc etc

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year folks.. I'm in Clearwater today, deciding if I'm going to go play disc golf in the cold by myself or not.
