CRT monitor seems to be on its way out, estimated cost to fix?

Post by velvta »

So out of nowhere my screen got much more washed out like someone cranked the gamma. I tried messing with the graphic card settings but it didnt fix anythign and the increased gamma is basically set in stone. Rebooted, and whent he monitor shut off there was a small bright circle in the middle of the screen that I've never seen before. The bio boot screen is also more grey than it is black now so i knew when i saw that that it was not a software issue. When Windows 7 boots up during the times when the monitor goes black usually, now it goes black but theres also like this wavy hourglass sort of thing dancing around on screen like happens when you degauss it. Anyone know what this issue sounds like and how much it would probably cost to fix?

You could buy a decent flat panel for the price it would cost to fix a CRT.
