Monitor issue

Post by Easto »

I have an older BENQ 19in LCD - about 8 years old. It's being supported by my C2D Win7 64bit machine and a Nvidia 8800 GTS.

Just recently I've been noticing when I have several screens open and I drag a window around the screen it seems to get a "stutter" as if the window is leaving little trails / snapshots behind it.

Old monitor wearing out? Time to upgrade vid card?

Like the mouse trails effect only for the window? Thats not so abnormal, how much RAM you have in it?

Perhaps your video drivers have issues... Maybe remove and update/reinstall the drivers... Also, as Yardy said, it could be insufficient/bad RAM. If you believe that you have enough RAM, you may want to test it and verify that it isn't going bad...

Given what you have said, I don't believe that it is the monitor…

This was happening when I installed a new vid editor program but I checked the ram usage while encoding etc but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Not a deal breaker by any means, a little annoying but that's it. I'll check for new drivers.
