Starcraft 2 beta testing has started.
Keys are getting passed out. 1up.com was streaming some game play, looks good.
When 1up was streaming there were about 400 people on SC2's portion of bnet.

The game looks great.
It has a match making system, in a "noob mode" you start with bases blocked by rocks and stuff that take a ton of hit points to destroy to prevent an early rush.
And you arent limited to selecting just 12 units at a time anymore.
The Protoss seem the most different to me from watching streams. And for the Zerg, the roaches are an interesting replacement for lurkers.

Enjoying the streams, I don't have a beta key yet.fixationdarknes wrote:Glad you are enjoying it.
I'm lowish on the requirements too, but it looks to run well on slower systems, a couple people have streamed it on barely recommended levels.
I'm pretty sure you will be able to turn off or at least turn down the animation. Blizzard is usually good about making them work for older PCs.

w00t, I got a key lol.
--edit: As I'm downloading the game, I'm starting to think I should've maybe tried to sell it on ebay for some hundreds of dollars >_<
--edit2: But after looking around, I suppose it's really only the Blizzcon cards (including polar bear WoW mount) that are selling for hundreds whereas the email invites are going for a lot less. I guess that makes me feel better. Anyway, let me know when you guys get yours so I can own you after practicing all day 24/7 for the next two weeks straight.
