Xfire sold....again

Post by Sava700 »

Well I knew that back in 2006 Xfire was purchased by Viacom, but now its ownership is by Gabe Newell (Owner of Valve).

Not sure where this is going but the recent message obviously isn't a good thing when you see most of the team is leaving.

Xfire was bought by new owners today. Most of the team that has built Xfire over the last six years is leaving. We enjoyed working for you for the last 127 releases and wish we could stay to create the next 127. Good bye, good luck, and game on. --- The Xfire Team

Xfire is outdated. I cant realyl see the need for Valve to purchase this unless they want to integrate xfire into steam and across all their games.

Communication built into the games is where it all seems to be headed.

I never cared for Xfire.
