Quake III: Arena Problem

Post by Aaladar »

I recently upgraded my video card drivers... I have a ATI Rage Pro Turbo 2x video card with 8MB memory. All my other games seem to rum smoother but when I try to run Quake III I get this error message, "GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem." Anybody know what that means? It won't let me into the game with this message.

Is your card capable of OpenGL?? Quake 3 does not have a software mode, it will only run in OpenGl i believe. Have you run it before?? If so what settings did you change. If you have never ran it before, you might want to investigate different drivers that will let you run open gl, and/or new card.

My older drivers let me use OpenGL... I'll try rebooting if that doesn't help I reinstall my old drivers.
