PC Upgrade??

I have an old Gateway 5310S I was thinking of upgrading it and was wondering would it be worth the cost..I want it mostly for casual gaming, and light media stuff.

I'd sell that sucker to someone and build a new one... way too much to replace to get it in gaming condition for most modern games.

That's what I was thinking..any advice on were to buy a good system for around $500
