Indian Blanket Flower

Did some hiking in Palo Duro Canyon on Saturday, and came across a couple of these flowers along the trail. Didn't see a lot of them, but the ones I did see really did stand out...

Garden shops sell versions of this as a perrenial but I think my winters are too wet or I don't have enough drainage for them to make it through the winter.
