Google search change?

Post by Sava700 »

Ok I'm not sure what in the hell I did but this is coming up on the left side during a search now... can't figure out what it is to turn it off so the results are just up and down the page and no side bar is located on the left or right.

Suggestions? Is this a new change they are doing cause I see it on both FF and IE and I don't like it. :irate:

That is the new default search result page. I don't care one way or the other really
If your browser can't read unicode, you should probably switch! ;)

Yeah they've been planning it for a bit....there will be some changes on the surface, and behind the scenes with adsense and adwords.

Yep, they wanted to "Bing" their site up a little, which I think is a good thing.

I don't care much for the MS bing search engine. Feels like I'm loading up a bunch of spy ware.

Relevancy tests were performed not to long ago on both Google and Bing and Bing won out in terms of Relevancy. I also like the way media results are displayed in Bing over Google.

 no big deal IMO either,

I don't do a search to enjoy or look at the results page, I look at the results for what I searched for. that's all I need search pages for.

So that's why my source is mad at me :irate:

That coke was supposed to stretch to an easy 1000.

Thanks Stoned Cat. :)

Bing (my opinion) is a pig. Fortunately I was using a government computer when I first used it. That computer chugged to a halt after all the optional crap was loaded in the background. I know... no stuff was being loaded, but that computer ran like a pig for the rest of the day. That was enough for me. I don't have to put my hand in the fire twice to figure out if I'll get burned or not. Google is just fine.

Besides.... Bing is not a cool name. It should be something that grabs the user. Something like "sheep-balls" or "snot"

Probably the Windows Live 'n Search feature..soon as you install that, and you get the Windows Search in your bar on the bottom...rig runs like a pig. Amazing how much faster it runs after you uninstall that and reboot.

works but it don't work, it gives the old results screen but it won't retain settings to allow it to guess what your looking for as you type if you know what I mean.
