Hi Folks,
I need your guys adivice for a new UPS system. I have 2 rack mount servers that need to plug into a UPS system. One server is a HP proliant DL380G5 and the other is a custom built server with 4 xeon 3.2GHZ processor with a RAID 10 array with 6 disks.
I would like one UPS if possible to be able to control both servers (2 data cables).
What would be your recomendation?
Thanks,
Roy

What are you looking for for run time on batt?

I'd probably lean towards an APC SU1500va
I try to go with the 1500 units for servers.
I'm not positive if the included serial and USB connections can be utilized concurrently...1 per server, never tried it.
For multiple servers...the "smartslot" card is an option that most people use. Basically a network card that slides into the back, gets an IP address on the network..and you download special software from APC that's basically an IP version of PowerChute.

If you're watching your budget more..the 1000 model is a couple of hundge cheaper

And if you're really watching your budget...keep an eye on APCs factory outlet

They change their stock every few days..so keep checking, you can get good deals there. Although, cuz they're heavy, shipping will always kill ya.
