Federal Government Investigating Websites?

Post by General_Jack_As »

Hello All,

Being a college student, I frequent a website that is called, collegehumor.com. This evening, when I went to this site, I recieved a notice which appeared to be from the United States Federal Government which stated that my IP address is being logged and that http://www.collegehumor.com is being investigated for un-American sentiment.

The reasons for my bringing this to your attention are two fold:
1: Seriously? I am a patriot and I have never seen anything on this website which would remotely be considered slanderous, treasonous, or anti-American. What is the Government doing in my computer and in my life?

2: Could this possibly be a virus? I googled the message and was unable to come up with any results relevant to my search. I'm attaching a .jpg of the message when I took a printscreen for everyone's convenience. I suppose if this is a virus, then a mod should probably move this thread as it is in the wrong forum.

Just wanted to hear another opinion about it, Thank You all for your time.

-Tim

EDIT:
This notice does not come up for any other websites, and I am currently running a full virus scan with avast! right now, I don't believe my pc has been compramised and I sent an email to the admin of the collegehumor.com website to notify them as well.

Be very afraid. Clearly, the United States Department of Information needs more information. :)

I thoroughly feel like an idiot. Thanks.

And that April Fool's joke admission coupled with the Axe advertisment was not there last night.
