Acpi 52c?

Post by nickm20 »

What is this ACPI i see in speedfan? is it my power supply if so is 52c a good operating temp sometimes it does 52 other times its 38. Do I need to put a new fan in my power supply would that help? cause the psu does make noise when i first turn on my computer would that keep it cooler? im worried i dont want none of my other components to get fried or destroyed by this. thanks

I think its a motherboard temp. Not sure what the threshold is for it but 52 doesnt seem unreasonable for the northbridge.

Google hasnt really helped me find the answer, you could check the manual if you have it or even email foxxconn.

Yeah i know google hasnt helped me either. I did purchase the new power supply so i know it couldnt be that running 52c i got a fan cooling my hard drives maybe i need to move it and use it as a case fan and see if that does anything i dont know i just blew it out with compressed air so i know its clean as well.

A PSU running in the 50s isnt that odd.

In fact if thats the only temp that high it could possibly be the PSU I guess, though mobo is more likely to me.

heres a pic maybe u can figure out what is what here i sure cant i get temp 1 temp 2 temp 3 hdd 0 hdd 1 then temp 1 57c but it shows ACPI Temp 57

if u dont mind take a look see what ya think see if im in a danger zone it has a fire icon on the temp1 thats supposed to be acpi at the bottom thats why i asked this.. I will contact foxconn as well to ask what the max temp of the mobo is..In the bios i just checked and system temp is 32c that seems good and the cpu was on 52c so im guessing acpi is the cpu i thought it was the first temp speedfan showed guess i was wrong but the top one fluctuates thats why i was wondering.. so im just kinda confused now.. if its my cpu i can get some artic cool for that but i think max temp for that is like 85c.. dunno about the acpi it might be the psu but its a decent temp u think?

Bowser!

Ya seeing that view I like the PSU for the temp readout.

In configure or the info tab, is there a place to select your mobo model to get labels for the temps?

SpeedFan and similar utilities are notorious for reporting dangerous-looking temperatures for detected items that aren't even related to typically-monitored sources of heat in a computer.

This "ACPI" likely refers to a sensor on the mobo dealing with power regulation (think capacitors or something like them). I wouldn't worry about it unless you start experiencing lock-ups, crashes or the like.

just shows the chip they r on when i do that.. Well if its nothing to worry bout then i wont stress over it. the mobo is almost a year old i know i bought one that wasnt too much up to date but hey i can run a pentium d its just finding the one with the right core to fit this board. i just wanted something i could use my existing agp graphics card and ddr ram with. im lookin for a cheap sata drive to replace my master IDE drive it is dying a slow death and so is my slave 120 gig storage drive and i have no way to back all that up its my music collection and my pics it sux i dont have enough dvds to do it with lol. but all in all i like this computer cause it flies with the HT and it also runs most games that even require a dual core i can run cod mw 2 on full settings 1400X1900 res which is what my desktop is on. i dont mean to go off topic at all but do u think windows 7 would run good? pentium 4 3.2 ghz 641 cedar mill core with HT enabled 1 gig DDR 3200 ram ati radeon hd2600 pro agp 256 mb hp 2009m dvi monitor. I have a tiny windows 7 ultimate that has a lot stripped from it and its supposed to be really fast.
