hi guys, im new to the whole networking area so bare with me.
im at university, and my download speeds are known to hit 7megabytes per sec which is nice for music/movies
but i have a bigger problem. it appears that it doesnt like counter strike source much.
on most public servers me and my friends hit a latency of 5 constant and play super smoothly, but when we join a clan war server one of our pings will randomly sky rocket to 500, or maybe this will happen to two of us at a time. however when we minimise the game on windows desktop, the ping of the game drops to a very good level, and upon maximizing the game, the ping hits up to 400/500 again.
just wondering if this has anything to do with ports or something that is easily fixable by contacting the network guys at my uni. any help is appreciated, oh and these are my analyzer results because everybody else seems to do it also ;D

You pretty much answered your own question... on most servers you have great latency and good pings.... but on one clan war server your pings go high.
I'd say the problem lies with that server or server provider its located at and not much you can do other than tell the server owner and have them complain.
