TCP Optimizer help

Post by Akkere »

Alright so I started having some ping problems where my ping for some reason started to go up to as high as 198, so I decided to use the TCP optimizer, but well...I sorta screwed up with it. It's now on 56kbps with this'
TCP 16616
MTU: 576
MTU Discovery: Yes
Black Hole Detect: No
Selective ACKs: Yes
Max Duplicate ACKs: 2
TTL: 64

As far as the ping, it ranges from 1041-1048 ms

I'm playing a game called Zombie Panic: Source, and thats when I started feeling the ping. I did a virus scan, removed a rootkit, but it still remained. I also did a registry cleanup as well and around that time it still got bad. I live in NJ and now the ping is
669 ms
Download is 0.44mbps
And upload is 0.23 mbps
At Red Bank NJ (recommended server as told from speedtest.net)

My wireless adapter is a Linksys 2.4 Ghz and its telling me the transfer rate to the router is 54 mpbs

So my questions are:
What do I set the general settings at
Should I reset the registry settings back to normal?
I know I screwed up and I'm out of answers now, I thought that if I tried moving the slot around and tried to see if there was a specific spot where the ping remained low I could fix it, but that obviously didn't go too well. Help?

Whoa never mind o.o The ping was now reduced to 53. I can't thank you enough. The ping at first was 163 (probably ebhcause of additional programs) and now its 50. Thanks.
