Alright well basically the title says everything, I built a new computer here are the specs
Processor: Intel Pentium E5200 Socket 775 LGA 2.5 GHz Dual-Core (NEW)
Mother Board: Intel Corperation DG35EC (NEW)
Ram: 3GB DDR2 1GB Kingston, 2x 1GB Samsung (3YRS OLD)
Using integrated graphics from mother board.
Operating System: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
Service Pack 2
The computer detects all ram, and runs very fast when it does boot.
What is happening is I will have no extra hardware on the computer, no PCI slot it taken up, and the computer will boot fine.
But the minute i stick new hardware in such as a tv tuner or a wireless card, I start it up and it says no boot device found, I disable everything but the CD Driver and HDD for booting
If I resetart the computer, go into bios then hit F10 (i dont change anything) and hit yes for saving it restarts and boots fine, It detects the hardware and all, the minute i restart the computer instead of booting to windows XP it says no boot device found.
Does anyone happen to know a fix for this kind of problem
unable to boot after new hardware
Well i think i figured it out, I had thought that it did it when you restarted but it doesn't only when you shutdown and startup
What would happen is when it would actually load windows and i hit restart i believe it doesn't research for drives and such because it detects it restarting
And when you shutdown and start back up it would check for new hardware
Well what i noticed is when you restarted you would not see the Intel splash screen but when you shutdown and booted backup you would see it for a split second then it would disappear.
So I went into the bios and found some delay, don't remember where but it was on i believe none. So i changed it to 5s so when it boots it says for 5 Seconds then goes on. and it worked, so what i believe is that since there was not a delay it did not have enough time to search for a hard drive therefore not being able to boot.
If this is not correct then i guess i just got lucky.
