interference between wireless phone and modem

interference between wireless phone and modem
Whenever my brother is downloading something on his laptop on wireless the broadband link of the modem goes orange blinking and then comes back green. both modem and phone operate at 2.4ghz but they are far from each other. i have tried changing channels but it doesnt seem to work out. i need help please.
The modem is a 2wire 1701-HG

well my modem and phone are placed like 34 Ft from each other. i have tried changing channels but dont seems to help, im not even sure if the phone is the one doing this. i need help because my brother is always connected through wireless with his laptop and he always disconnect me when he is loading youtube videos or downloading files.

Then the cordless phone will not affect your connection.
Most likely the other comp is downloading torrents and crowding you out.
Get your brother to set limits into his torrent program following this thread below:
