Baris

Post by Mad_Haggis »

I had Baris running last year with XP. Had to use a program called DOSBOX. Had to use a SVGA monitor. Worked great, sound/video.

Since then I have upgraded the whole works. It will no longer work.

Made a bet with friends to see if they could get it going again. They could not, because they all use new monitors.

They bet I could not get it to run.

I won the bet....Had to go to the basement.

I rebuilt a Pentium 1 133, with a soundblaster sound card. Had to find an old keyboard and serial mouse. Big basement lots of museum stuff down there.

Found a 4x cdrom drive...here's the kicker. It had the original Baris disk still in it, LOL.

Started the rig up with a HD that had win98 installed already.

Game On!!! Sound, Video everything.

Played a game with Sito and won, no crash. 6 hour game.

I won the bet!

BARIS = Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space.

DOSBox still works with XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Buzz Aldrin's Race to Space.

Odds are you only needed to install a newer version and adjust the settings.
