Nintendo Wii vs Playstation 3
PC Games have become less and less attractive along with trying to keep up with the hardware market. I am considering a console but not sure which one.
The only two pros i have to go on are GTA IV for PS3 vs Wii sports and well just the moving around part seems cool.
So if you have one and think its better, or if you have both and had to choose 1 to keep which would it be. Other input would be nice as well.
Thanks

Have to go with the PS3 as its graphical capabilities are in a different league. The Wii is a very gimmicky system relying on its motion sensing technology to emerse you in the game as best as possible, but if you play any game that has been cross platform ported you will see just how bad the Wii lags behind in the graphics area.
PS3 for sure... you cant play GTA4 on any Wii!

Yup, the elite system; up-converted DVD's look good and Netflix is handy. <IMHO>If your a traditional gamer and appearance is high on your list the PS3 is the way to go, otherwise if you are a more casual type gamer the Wii is fun. Also if you do not have a HD TV go with the Wii.Gixxer wrote:none, but if someone were to give me one. i would take the xbox 360

well thats just why i am comparing them, they both offer game playing ability.... however the way the games are played and what games can be played are what is different.Dan wrote:I'm thinking he meant between the wii and the PS3,
and I agree, aren't they very different units ?
what i am asking then, mainly towards those who have used both, is the wii as fun as the commercials show, i cant say i have heard anyone say the wii sucks.
thanks for the input guys, still deciding. PS3 just because of GTA IV is most likely what its going to be

2 very different systems.
Forget the specs of each unit.
Which one has the games you want to play?
When you will feel like or have time to play games, what kinda mood will you be in, fresha nd looking for an active controller like the Wii's, or more tired from work and just want to chill out and game?
In John Carmack's keynote speech at QuakeCon this year he mentioned that graphics are important, but its the gameplay that keeps players coming back to a game. And that fits for the consoles too when both are so different like the PS3 and Wii.

I have both and if I had to only choose one it would be the PS3. I really like the Wii but for what I want to play (sports and first person) the PS3 is better.
What I really like the Wii for is the Wii Sports/Play games and Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Kart.

I mean to to say, it is a flop with game developers. The console is nothing without the game developers making games. Game devs are having a HARD time with the PS3, its programming is still a nightmare from what I hear with game devs. The console is not developer friendly.
This is becoming a trend.

Four ppl I know have Xbox 360's and the games are good , multiplier with them would be fun so Xbox 360 would be the logical choice.
Like the Wii Balance board
PS 3 is way to expensive I'd say

You can pick up a 120gig PS3 slim for $299 - only about $50 more than what I paid for the Wii I picked up last night. And if I'm not mistaken, they just lowered the 80gig standard PS3 to $299 also...gertvanjoe wrote:Four ppl I know have Xbox 360's and the games are good , multiplier with them would be fun so Xbox 360 would be the logical choice.
