dvi to vga cable

Im getting a computer in a couple of days the thing is the video card is dvi and my compter screen vga?
I bought this dvi to vga cable thinking it would be better then buying a adapter (give me better quality picture). Will it work with the 17inch dell S1709W Flat Panel Monitor vga. My video card is the nvidia 285 dual dvi. Read the review again. :) He tried to connect the VGA plug to his PC and the DVI to his monitor. He tried to hook it up back wards. It ain't gonna work that way. :nope: Should work the way you want to use it. :nod:

The adaptors work fine..hell if you would have asked I'm sure any member here would have sold you one really cheap. I've got several sitting around here from past video card purchases.
