Primary? No, ran in a VM, put on a spare laptop for a bit....
When the official one is avail, I'll put in on my main workstation at the office...soon after my main gaming rig at home after I know the games I play run fine on it.

Not bothering with any RCs on my main rigs now because once the official one comes out I'll have to format 'n reinstall again...because so far, AFAIK none of them can be key changed to official on the fly..gotta format/reinstall.

On my main Intel E8400 I am running RC 7201 as of today and it is VERY good and as soon as the RTM is available, that will be going on the beast as well.

Am looking at building a NEW beast, AMD Phenom II 955 with 12gb mem. :)

Its possible RTM has been released or leaked.. 7260 has leaked out and rumors are that it will be the RTM version but I've also read that some think 7300 will be the RTM build and it will come out tomorrow or next few days.

Hard to say at this point but I'm downloading 7260 at this time anyway.

They still have stuff to work on, they usually RTM approx 2 months before release. I don't see them sitting on their hands for the next 2 months calling it done, we'll more than likely see some new ones "leaked" til August.

That Russian guy from Neowin? :wth:

Bottom line for me is, I'll be snagging it soon as the official avail through MSDN/Technet. Else it's format 'n reinstall the "leak of the week"...which ain't my cuppa tea.

You don't run any programs other than Windows? You don't tweak settings, install codecs, or customize things?

No productivity suites like Office...and naturally all the service packs and updates for that?

Setup/configure e-mail? Restore old e-mail depending on what you use.

Install other browsers, restore those faves/bookmarks/themes?

Antivirus

Instant Messengers....import settings, adjust theme/skin/settings

For me I have all my remote access 'n VPN stuff

For home users...games, restore settings, patches, mods, etc etc.

Misc other software.

Printers, other peripherals

I can do all that stuff with absolutely mind numbingly blurried speed...faster than 99 and 44/100ths % of others out there..and it's still something that'll take 1/2 a day to get my main rigs where I want them. Even on top of that..over the following week I'll be finding little things to tweak.

And then there's the ~ 2 week tuning period for Superfetch to optimize again.

well 30mins install..some minor tweaking and just checking around. System is slimmed down besides gaming on it but tweaking or doing more would come at another time after I'm done testing. The point of installing each build is for testing purposes of the stability of the build..if I start screwing with it too much it might not work right. Besides games and a few odd ball programs thats about it I'm running with..everything else will fall into place or get left in the dust like Creative did and their driver release issue from Vista.

But if another build is leaked next week.....who really cares about current build and what may not work?

You don't know until the final product is out, anything else is just....BETA!

Yes Microsoft releases RCs 'n stuff to get feedback...but comon lets be realistic....1 person out of say every 87,546,293 kids out there running the "leak of the week" might actually do what the RCs are tended for..and give MS some feedback.

I'm not loading every single one...making some jumps on numbers and at this point I'm waiting on the RTM before I decide to do the 7260 build cause I cant' really find a 64bit version of it yet.

WZor has just posted an update regarding the signing-off of Windows 7 RTM! Here is the roadmap to RTM:

Basically, between now and July 10, 2009, Microsoft will be preparing the build containing all of the SKU's which will be sent out to partners first, possibly Connect and MSDN/Technet subscribers next, and finally customers when it hits the store shelves! Then, on July 13, 2009, Windows 7 will officially be COMPLETED!

WZor also noted that employees will have access to the RTM build on July 10th, so be on the lookout for the RTM build shortly thereafter. Likewise, in regards to what the RTM build number will be, WZor says their sources report it will most likely be rounded to 7300.

So, the RTM build that leaks may look something like be:

6.1.7300.0.winmain.??????-????

WinFuture.de is reporting today that sources close to them say Windows 7 will RTM on June 29, 2009. As far as who is right and who is wrong, both of these sources are credible, so they're both hearing information from people out of Microsoft; it's not as if one of these sites are lying to everyone. And just to add to the mix, Neowin.net reported on June 16, 2009 that their sources indicated an RTM date of June 26, 2009! Again, all credible sites, so the difference probably lies in which of their sources has the most recent information. Both WZor and WinFuture have posted their RTM dates today, so I guess we'll see what happens. Just to recap, here are the RTM dates as they've been reported by 3 credible sites:

Neowin.net: June 26, 2009
WinFuture.de: June 29, 2009
WZor.net: July 13, 2009

the 7264 build leaked out a few days ago..but if I had to make a choice on what day I think RTM will hit I'd say July 13th. I'd hope for sooner to force PunkBuster into supporting the damn thing cause right now that's the only issue I run into with Win7.
