e8400 vs e7500

Post by Logician »

Im on a small budget :( which reallysucks so far i went and bought a 9500GT gfx card was 65.00 i have 4GB Corsair DDR2 pc800 i am looking to buy a e8400 cpu or a e7500 im just not sure if i should get the8400 im not sure ill see a huge difference in performance but then again the8400 has a 6mb cache while the 7500 has a 3mb cache...the 8400 is 1333FSB and 7500 is 1066FSB 3.0ghz vs 2.93ghz will i really see a difference and is itworth the extra cash forthe8400 im just trying to play world of warcraft so im sure either is more than enough processing power.

You won't get any benefit from a 1333 MHz front side bus unless you're overclocking or have a motherboard with DDR3 so you can run the CPU, RAM and FSB synchronously at 1333 MHz. Otherwise, RAM and FSB will run at the speed of the lowest part of the system, in your case 800 MHz. Might as well just get the E7500 in this case.

World of Warcraft is far more CPU intensive than GPU, so the better the processor you can afford, the better it will be.
