Its not really that amazing to me.

3 high end video cards
Vista business
Office basic
4 1 terabyte drives
A NIC card when theres already 2 on the board
High end router
High end mobo
Photo printer
Color inkjet printer
Laser printer
Battery backup unit
Complete speaker system
High end sound card instead of using whats on the mobo
And a 30" monitor.

I find it amazing that you count all that as just a single processor desktop.

Those 200 dollar desktops sure dont come with anything near that.

Looks like something a guy I work with would build. I'm not even sure what he has right now but it's insane.

I know, worthless post without specs.

Didn't see 18 printers or fifty things in that post so you dramaticaly fail

The only point was going through a PC configuration on a sale site, and coming up with almost $10,000 in a single processor desktopcomputer....Insane, at least to me, but you on the other hand find that normal....If so, welcome to the unreal world, but for the rest of us mear mortals...insane

Its more than single processor system as we have said, try comparing apples to apples and you'll see its not so insane.

Still insane for a desktop as I type on my 4 year old 3 gig system.
Now take into consideration thats comming from someone who pays a mortgage, insurance, car payments, food , heat, electricity, internet, Phone, Repairs, income tax, accountants, medical expenses, and so on and so on.
If I had had my parents paying for everything I might have thought a $10000 dollar comp was normal

Your 4 year old 3ghz is nothing like a quad core 3ghz cpu.

Taking into consideration all those those bills you should be happy that in this day and age we have a variety of systems to fit different peoples budgets.

A 10k PC is as normal as a 10k desk, but once again, the PC you listed doesnt cost 10k, its all the excess addons that do.

This went from a failed attempt at showing an expensive computer, to fail, then to some good ol' class envy.

Most people with enormo bills wouldn't be getting an expensive custom PC.

you can get 1TB drives for about $100 now i think, and they just came out with 2TB drives as well.

as far as if a quad is worth it, sometimes yes it is,if doing video encoding then heck ya, plus some programs can use the GPU on video cards for cerrtain effects and filters as well.
