I'm working on plans to build a new house now and the whole thing will be wired big time! I'm running Cat5 to each room from a central point and two wireless access points. Also going to run A/V cables to certain rooms with hookups like that..coax the whole works with speakers in each room ceiling corner of every room. The wiring alone will likely cost alot but I plan on doing that myself.
It would be worth the time to do all that vs cutting holes and running cables that I've had to do now in the house i'm in.

why not? it would appear as if he's got bouncing antenna's to pick up the remotes..but this way the lights on the equipment don't shine in your face when your watching the TV...most new DVD/blue ray players have bright lights that are annoying.

The remote is most likely RF, a lot of people will put the equipment either behind the seating or even in a closet or another room.
Those speaker terminations look like A$$, I'd say they are losing a bit through all of those connections.

Yeah actually those aren't very good speaker terminations on the wall.
Check out the speaker wire.
As to the interconnects, I've seen some pretty amazing rooms with just a stereo setup and they run the interconnects a long way to amps in the front of the room with the speakers and keep the speaker wire, short.
I would have preferred to see it behind the couch.

I can't stand faceplate's that scream, "Look at me, Look at me!". I would have at least painted the faceplate's to match the wall coloring. Also, In the past I've been involved with some custom homes structure cabling/network projects. I've installed faceplate's and electrical outlets on the floor where speakers and such would be installed. This can only be accomplished when a customer has a permanent design in mind. Looks fantastic with nothing coming out of the walls.
That's a good point, JCOS. I put all mine together behind the main unit. I'm not sure why for instance, the surrounds are way out on the wall unless it's to help the guy remember what's what?
