Removing alternate boot options

Post by golfnintendoboy »

Hi everyone,

I have been working on a friend's computer and notice that upon boot up there is more than one choice. I have two choices to boot. Both say microsoft windows xp professional. i need the first one, but not the second. how can i get rid of the second?

also, the first one tries to log on automatically with administrator, but has the wrong password entered (automatically). I can click 'ok' and then it goes to then normal welcome screen just fine. How can i skip the auto log on with 'administrator' and go straight to the welcome screen?

thanks in advance

To remove it, try
Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Check the box Users must enter a username and password.
It may already be checked, but uncheck it & check it again.
