College Football predictions (Top 25) - Week 15

Post by Roody »

Here is the picks for the final weekend of the regular season.

=========

Friday

Ball State Vs. Buffalo (Mac Championship) - Ball State wins

Saturday

#1 Alabama Vs. #4 Florida (Sec Championship) - It seems like everyone is counting out Nick Saban and company. Something tells me they just may surprise although the odds are greater that they don't. Still I am going with my gut on this one. Alabama wins.

#20 Missouri Vs. #2 Oklahoma (Big 12 Championship) - Oklahoma wins easily.

#5 USC @ UCLA - USC wins this rivalry game and captures their 7th consecutive Pac-10 title and 7th consecutive appearance in a BCS bowl. *now Roody waits for Sava to naturally pick UCLA in the upset* ;)

#13 Cincinnati @ Hawaii - Cincy wins
#17 Boston College Vs. #25 Va. Tech (ACC Championship) - All credit to BC for a good year when it wasn't expected after the loss of so much talent. That said Va. Tech seems to have the edge in this game and should pull out a slim victory.

#23 Pittsburgh Vs. Connecticut - Pitt wins

Here's something to get you worked up over Sava. Either Utah or Boise State (Likely BSU) will go undefeated and get screwed by the BCS when Ohio State is picked to take one of the spots in the Fiesta Bowl against a Big 12 team (Probably Texas).

Ohh they have been talking about it for weeks now.. if BSU gets screwed out of the BCS game against a big 12 team by OSU I'll be so pissed!! I'm sure many people will be pissed!

Might as well get ready for it. Facts are Ohio State means more money to college football by FAR then Boise State does. Ohio State has one of the best traveling fan bases in college football if not arguably the best in all of football. It wouldn't matter that Boise is closer to Arizona then Columbus is. Ohio State would still be the bigger draw. Shoot, I would be willing to bet a Texas/OSU Fiesta Bowl would have more OSU fans in attendance then Texas fans and this is with Texas very close by.

It's about the big bucks in Division 1 football. Programs like Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma etc.. draw like crazy and they can easily bring in more money then just about anyone else. That's the reason why a 6-6 Notre Dame team which stinks will go to a bowl game and the sponsors of that bowl game will rake in some serious dough. The Fighting Irish are a proven commodity when it comes to ticket sales. Always have been and always will be.

Here is what we know for certain. In the Pac-10 USC and UCLA will always be the sexier draw because they are LA market teams. In the Big 10 Michigan and Ohio State will always draw large crowds. Both sell memorabilia unlike no other. In the Big 12 it will always be about Oklahoma and Texas. In the SEC teams like LSU, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia will always have that kind of appeal. That's just how it is.

At this point, those players aren't complaining. They know the score. I'm sure most would love a match up with a big BCS team so they could do what they did in the Fiesta Bowl a few years ago, but hey....money talks.

Utah will likely get either Alabama or Florida and that's not a good thing. Alabama would probably be a better game, but if Florida got hold of them dear God it would get ugly.

well its nearly 1pm and time to watch VAtech I hope pull out a good game and a victory over BC. I think if Foster puts pressure on their new rookie QB he will screw up alot and not gain much on offense.

Go Gators! I call Florida wins 31-17.

Sava, I'm pullin' for your Vtech boys to win today. I hope they stomp BC. :thumb:

USC is going to destroy UCLA

Missouri doesn't stand a chance against Oklahoma, but I'm hoping for a major upset nonetheless.

I'm pullin for Florida too and yeah VATech FTW!

As for USC...well they have only played against 2 ranked teams this year..another team hasn't won a game yet.. so I think UCLA will show the world for us the truth today and make USC wish they had that other TO.

Oklahoma will likely win..if they don't all hell will break lose and I hope the BCS implodes.

Yeah it's not a good matchup for UCLA. Their defense is very good and it will probably be a good game in the first half, but UCLA does not matchup well with USC and likely will be destroyed regardless of the delusions Sava falls victim too.

Btw, we played more then 2 ranked teams this year.

The attendance of the ACC Championship game continues to suck. Va. Tech and BC just don't travel well. I wonder why that is since both of the teams are good, solid teams.

VATech is just dominating BC right now but you can't blame the attendence on the teams cause VATech does travel well and so does BC.. you have to blame that on the economy and the ACC picking to play in damn Florida all the time for this game...I know its cold but they should have played in DC on a neutral central field. If that was the case I had a ticket and could have gone. But I don't have the time or the money to fly to Florida.

If nothing else you provide severe amusement here Sava. Between saying Penn would play USC, Texas going Democrat, USC losing to Notre Dame and undoubtedly UCLA about to get beat by USC I sure am glad you don't pick my team to win things. If you did we would probably lose.

Like I said. They will hang with them in the first half because UCLA has a very good defense that is even better then their ranking, but their offense is so god-awful it makes Va. Tech look like Oklahoma offensively. Ultimately USC will pull away and win comfortably.

Oklahoma is starting to beat on them now. I can honestly say with 4 1 loss teams at the top I wish we had at least a 4 team playoff. It's disappointing that 1 bad quarter of football can cost a team a chance to play for the title, but it did with USC. Still they have no one to blame but themselves.

Oklahoma has taken care of business tonight.

I think the only way they will lose to Florida is if they beat themselves. And that is a possiblity because they get nervous in big games and don't execute. That is what happen during the Texas game.

I would love to play texas again.

Good luck against Florida. I hope you guys kill them. I will say one thing though. This season has got me more annoyed with the BCS like Sava is then ever before. When your defense is the best football has seen in decades and you fail to play in the title game because you have one quarter of bad football that is extremely disappointing. Especially when you know that the title game will be played by two teams with 1 loss also.

Still it is what it is, but someday I hope this stuff can be decided on the field in a playoff.
