Question about folding with my video card

Post by Think »

I'm presently folding with both my PS3 and my QX9650.

The QX9650 system has an Asus ATI 4870x2 videocard so i would like to know how I can utilize the dual gpu as well as the cpu for folding. Also, if I have to choose only one then I assume the dual gpu videocard would outperform, therefore how would I fold with the videocard?

Pros cons?

whatever, this is not the place for childish games dude, Think wants help and asks a question that can help others setting up F@H and if you feel the need to mess with him do it in PM.

F@H is something i support very strongly, as i have been doing this for many years.

Folding@home -gpu client comes with the new ATI 8.12 drivers...working as I type :thumb:

Do I still run folding@home -cpu client as well as the folding@home -gpu client at the same time?

Video card - ATI 4870x2
CPU - QX9650

I found the SMP less stable but still worth the effort with Q6600 at 3Ghz and GTX280 for the GPU, GPU was only using about 7 or 8% of one core.

Osully

I have a 260 running with a quad and 3 regular folders and using most of cpu.

The 3 regular avg around 800-1000 points per day. Would a smp avg more?

Tks

With the Q6600 at 3Ghz and a 2665 WU I averaged 1500 a day, without the GPU the SMP gets about 1920 although there seems to be three types, one comes in lower, one higher and one a hair over 1920. I need to get myself organized and send back my 280 so I can get it back in production.
