LS-120, PCI decoder card, etc?

Post by billyboysport »

What are the speeds for the fastest LS-120 drive and the fastest floppy drive at reading floppies? With the Radeon 64MD DDR, does it have a hardware decoder card integrated in it or do I need to get a PCI hardware decoder card?

If you're referring to hardware DVD decoding, ATI is the best in the business (always have been), so you can't go wrong w/ a Radeon.

So the Radeon 64MD DDR and all the Radeon models have an integrated hardware decoder card?

FROM THE ATI WEBSITE:

Industry Best DVD Playback

Process full-frame rate, full-screen DVD or MPEG-2 video

Hardware DVD saves the expense of buying a separate MPEG-2/DVD decoder card

Integrated IDCT and motion compensation allows for DVD decoding with minimum CPU usage

HDTV ready
