DB102 STREAMYX MODEM ADSL>>>Do you think the result can be improved?

Post by mus24 »

After use a TCP/IP Optimizer and workaround little bit, i figured it out how very useful this program
and its really-really works to me and see the improvement woow thats great so I'd be very thankful if someone with more knowledge
take a look on the tests below.

Do you think the result can be improved?

Thank you in advance!

1. What type of connection do you have? i.e. 56K, ISDN, DSL (PPPoE or not), Cable etc.

PPPoE, DB102 MODEM TMNET, (LAN)

2. Who is your ISP and what is your advertised speed from them? i.e. Cox.net & 3000/256 - this is advertised in kilobits per second.

STREAMYX, 100.0 MB

3. What are your current settings now? Do a TCP/IP Analyzer Test and copy and paste the results (remember to XXXXX out your IP address) here.

MTU: 1392
Your MTU is rather low !

Try the following with TCP Optimizer:

General Settings tab:
Custom settings - check
Modify All Network Adapters - check
network adapter selection - your NIC
MTU - 1500
TTL - 64
TCP Receive Window - leave blank
MTU Discovery - Yes
Black Hole Detect - No
Selective Acks - Yes
Max Duplicate ACKs - 2
TCP 1323 Options:
Windows Scaling - uncheck
Timestamps - uncheck

Advanced Settings tab:
Max Connections per Server - 10
Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 10
LocalPriority - 1
Host Priority - 1
DNSPriority - 1
NetbtPriority - 1
Lan Browsing speedup - optimized
QoS: NonBestEffortLimit - 0
ToS: DisableUserTOSSetting - 0
ToS: DefaultTOSValue - 80
MaxNegativeCacheTtl - 0
NetFailureCacheTime - 0
NegativeSOACache Time - 0
LAN Request Buffer Size - 32768

After reboot, post a new TCP Analyzer report.
What makes you: "...waking up in the morning so excited about & wanna FLY out of the door ?"

TCP Window is set too high. 64896 is sufficient to handle 500+ms latency for a 1 mbps line.

Probably ICMP pings being blocked by the firewall in the router. A software firewall would also block hop 1.

Refer to this guide:

http://www.riger.com.my/SmartConfig.pdf

Select "SmartConfig" and see what Up and Down speeds your modem is getting from your ISP.

You are getting 90% of your line speed of 1024 kbps. I can only get 880 kbps due to old phone lines.
