anti-virus questions

I put AntiVir on my wifes pc and it has a popup on boot and randomly throughout use to buy the full version or upgrade,whatever,it's a pain,can I turn it off and still stay free?

or is there a good one thats free without popups ?

do you guys still like AVG ?

No don't like AVG....it's fallen behind in detection rates, as well as gotten "heavy".
