iPod problem

Hello everyone i have an ipod video 30 gig that just recently stopped working....when i plug it into my computer it sounds like the hard drive is doing something and im getting a message on the screen that says something like see ipod support....any ideas?

Have you tried Apple's support page? If not maybe give that a shot.

This page goes through their "5 r's" : reset, retry, restart, reinstall and restore. I don't know if any of the options would wipe out your files, but hopefully it would tell you on the support page if this is a possibility.
