Battlefield 2 Error

Post by outlaw987 »

During game play, I get this error message on the screen:

Debug Assertion Failed!

Version: 1.1.2965-797.0 Build date: 2006-9-26 17:53
Module: ParticleSystem
File: D:/Aphrodite/BF2_1.4/Code/BF2/Geom/ParticleSystem/TrailRenderer.cpp
Line: 647

Text: LockFailed(Sometimes Failed to lock surface)

Current confile:

[Cancel] [Try Again] [Continue]

After choosing one of the options, the game closes out and returns to the desktop. I downloaded the 1.41 patch, but still no luck. Can anyone help, this is so frustrating! Thanks.
(Note: This does happen during offline gameplay too. When I first installed the game, I never had a problem until recently.)
O and one more question, there was another patch, 1.4, what's the difference between that one and the 1.41 patch?

I suggest a reinstall of the game... just make sure you reboot after you uninstall it. Then install it with 1.41, reboot again.

However after you uninstall the game I would suggest you update two things maybe 3.
Update XP to SP3
Update Directx

Make sure your graphics driver is update as well...
