Post by Ken »

SEATTLE — The SuperSonics will move to Oklahoma City for the 2008-09 season as part of a settlement announced Wednesday with the city of Seattle.

Seems like a brave move to me... Congratulations Oklahoma City!

Lame imo. I'm not even a Sonics fan, but this is a terrible thing.

There's nothing funny about 7' tall dudes wearing over-sized double-breasted white pin-striped suits with $100K in gold and four carat diamond earrings and corn rows!!

Hey. I used to watch Bird, McHale and all sorts of other dudes in shorts far too short for 7 footers to be wearing. The NBA has devolved into the inmates running the asylum. Nothing but a bunch of spoiled little babies trying to take each other one on one.

In case none of you have watched a Sonics home game, no one went to their games, their arena was a POS, etc.

We have state of the art facilities and when the Hornets were here there were few empty seats. The Sonics have a brighter future in OKC.

I hope so. :)
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

No offense FC but OKC has not proven it can support a long term support to a Pro franchise.

Concernin the arean - Key Arena was rebuilt in 94-95 so it couldnt have possibly been that ******.

When Clay Bennett bought the franchise he had no plans on even attempting to keep it in Seattle and IMO that is causing the biigest issue. I am happy for the people of OKC but the fact that they allowed the Sonics (40+ years in seattle) to be moved is very very sad.

Actually, the arena is quite nice. Not enough luxury boxes and a lease that favored the city made for an unfavorable revenue stream as of late, but the team was quite happy not so long ago.

And the losing began in earnest once Clay Bennett took over. He systematically dismantled the team in a successful attempt to create apathy amongst local fans so that the move would seem more appropriate.

Congrats on getting a team...just know that it was at the expense of a lot of disappointed fans in my area. F*** Clay Bennett!
When they kick at your front door, how you gonna come? With your hands at your head, or the trigger of your gun?

Good riddance to that pile of taxpayer-money-draining crap.
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!
