Well what are the chances i had my comp hooked up to an old peice surge protector that didnt do jack or it was my cable modem that wasnt hooked up to one well anyways my comp is toasted and i need to know what should i get for a motherboard www.pricewatch.com is where i usally look but i need one that will accept p2/3 and the highest ammount of mhz i can get for the p3 cause christmas is coming and i want to upgrade and replace my 450.

well right now i am on my pops comp it has a 133mhz but my good one that is in my one that is fried is running with a p2 450 but i was looking for a p3 800-850mhz do u think that a motherboard will be able to support both when i upgrade from my 450 or not?

Are you sure the MOBO is toast? If you have a no post no video system I would yank all the IDE cables, expansion cards but video and even memory then see if you can get at least a beep code from the MOBO for no memory. If you do then stick the memory back in and pull the video card and start it up again. If you get a beep code for no video card then stick the video card back in and see if it will at least post. If it posts put the cards back in it one at a time till you find the culprit. You could have just fried one componet. Most of the time its one card that got toasted that cause no post no video. Do this before you step out and buy a MOBO, I'd hate to see spend money that won't fix your problem.

I guess I should mention that if you can't get memory and video beep codes then the MOBO or P/S has gone south. In that case a great MOBO for you would be one that I use for just about all my build ups. Rock solid as hell if you can still find it. ABIT BH6, any abit for that matter is a great Intel board.
