looking for cars
The ES series is based on the Camry design. It's 90% Camry in terms of parts, and 98% Camry driveline. That being said you can count on it being as reliable as a wood burning stove. The downfall to that is the Camry is BOOOORING. Like driving around in a big fluffy couch. It'll eat the miles up, but if you have any desire to wick it up and have some fun on the backroads it'll leave you wanting.
Have a look into the Camry XLS (I think) of the same year and compare, I think Lexus is still a screaming value for the hardware they stuff into them. The XLS will lhave a "sportier" bend to it, but sans the spiffy Lexus badge.

thanks all. i am looking to stay around the 15,000 to 20,000 range as my wifes trailblazer already runs us 620/month, but not opposed to going less (or more) if i see something i really want. i want to keep at least a v-6 (preferrebaly 3.5). have looked at suv's. sport/sporty, truck, and then closer to plain jane with a 2.5 v6, decent gas mileage because it was/is a great deal.

If you need a truck and a car just won't do, then go for it, the F150 is a great truck. But with gas prices going up every week(day?), I think anyone buying a vehicle should consider a gas sipper. Of course it is your money, so you can do whatever you want to do, but just consider the possibility that we will never see gas below $4/gal once it gets that high everywhere.Gixxer wrote:hell of a deal!!??

we were thinking about a truck for the fact i hate having to put lawn / dirty things in the back of our trailblazer and getting it dirty. i am sports car kinda guy though. i think i am going to check out a chrysler 300c with a v6.JAFO wrote:If you need a truck and a car just won't do, then go for it, the F150 is a great truck.
