Help with Secret sound

Post by Sava700 »

The local radio station has this contest going on and they give clues out at various times but every hour like 8:30,9:30 etc they play this sound you have to be caller 19 and then guess it. I've found a site that someone has put the sound on and put the clues up....anyone care to take a guess?

Not sure what the sound would be - a little research on the clues about what they would have in common with the soud are:

1. Computer command - Ping (metal sound knocking together)

2. This sound has two parts - sounds like a pencil tracing something in the middle

3. William, Roger and James - something with church (baptist) - collection plates maybe....

4. “H” and “A” - HANDA (honda/acura)

5. You’re gonna miss this - once again, Tracing something (Trace Adkins "your gonna miss this" song)

6. Google and quicken - collecting something (financial info -quicken, google collects info)

7. Long road to ruin - Echo (foo fighters CD title)

8. Rockefeller Center attraction - ??

9. One safe screw - ?? perhaps screw was caught in a magnetic plate at the end - dont have any idea...

10. Black and blue - rolling stones cd - maybe something rolling down one of those roller coster toys and landing in a metal dish of some sort - but what about the tracing noise?

Good luck, can't spend any more time on this - post the answer when someone figures it out, I am curious now!

2001 Space Odyssey is what the clues make me think of,doesn't help ID the sound.Although a metal wisk in a metal mixing bowl sounds close.

Sava, I am totally stumped. I would like to see some previous clue lists along with the answer to maybe help me get an idea of how their clues work. Are they literal, or is it a stretch to associate the clue with the answer? That kind of thing. I think I'll do a little searching and try to come up with some.

Hmmm i have no idea how to find previous stuff..and its hard to say how they are working these clues. Either way once you figure out the answer getting through as caller 19 will be hard.

1. Computer command - Break, echo, lock, move, ping
3. William, Roger and James - To fiddle with (to "Jimmy"), to steal ("Rob"), money ("Bill")?
4. “H” and “A” - Ham? Piggy bank?
5. You’re gonna miss this - ?
6. Google and quicken - ?
7. Long road to ruin - "Forever gone without a trace" - A thief? Theft?
8. Rockefeller Center attraction - Bank of America building?
9. One safe screw - SAFE?
10. Black and blue - Bruise - "to injure the surface of (an ingot or finished object) by collision." - Breaking, again?
11. A religious experience - ?
12. New moon - Full?
13. Carpenters and Chicks - ? (Could be talking about their interactions?)
14. 800 Feet in the desert air - ?
15. Casey’s Coast To Coast - ?
16. Crafty Chef’s Other Gig - Iron Chef America (?)
17. Post 9/11 arm - ?
18. Virginia-Based Game Maker - ?

My best guess is something dealing with a piggy bank (either breaking or filling it), or some form of safecracking. It SOUNDS like a piggy bank to me.
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!

11.A religious experience- Collection plate?
