Computer Freezing when connecting to a Router

Post by NateDizzle »

Hey everyone, been having some trouble connecting with my D-Link DI-624 router. When i have my computer connected to it via an ethernet cable, the computer freezes up once it realizes it's connected to the router.

I have the latest updates for Windows XP, and the computer connects very smoothly when connecting via a switch instead of a router. My computer is fairly decent, about two years old, dual core processor with 2g of ram, havn't had any problems with fans, power source, etc. Any ideas?

Try a different port on the router?
Do we know if this router even works? Any other computers to test on it?

Download the latest firmware for your D-Link DI-624 router, and see if that help getting connected.
