Intel Pro/DSL 2100 modem/nic

I just recently got a dsl line. The modem that they provided is an Intel Pro/DSL 2100. Does anyone have any tweaks or info on this harware? I play Ultima Online and Asheron's Call, no shootemups or real graphic intensive ones. However, I lose conn in UO more than I think I should, and I can't reconnect, also a side-effect is when I shut down after a crash, Win98 only goes as far as the Windows is shutting down.. screen, not to the It is now safe to shut off your comp screen. Anyone know what's up?
