What folders do I need to backup in order to retain Saved games in the event I re-image my PC?

You need the profiles folder in COD4 ..within the players directory.
Pretty much same thing with Crysis...

I seem to have a corrupted install that is not letting me install updates. I"m going to try everything fresh again.

I'm not finding a profiles directory Sava. I see a Bin32, Game, LogBackups, PB, Support, Tools and a Game Text Document. Which do I choose?

Mine is here:
C:\ProgramFiles\Activision\Call of Duty 4- Modern Warfare\Players\Profiles
you want to just copy the whole profiles folder, then start the game on a new install, and then close it so it will create a new one..then just overwrite.

Ok thanks again man. I plan on doing a format and reinstall this evening of everything. Think I will take mine back up to 64bit Vista again.
