Have you tried turning the ord around the other direction, i had to do that on one of my other motherboards, if that doesnt work, you can get some much better heatsinks, and fans, from either ocz.safeshopper.com or 3dfxcool.com most of them will fit.
I have tried to use a golden orb on my tbird 1.2 and when i booted into the bios my temp was 75 cel. way to high so i orderd the ocz monster 2 and the temp went way down, I also have the kt7a-raid board and this heatsink works great.

See just below were the CPU goes there are about 4 little transistors or something. I don't know what they are for sure. What other options do I have for fan and heatsink. The orbs aren't possible because it doesn't fit properly since those transistors are a little in the way. At least the one by itself is i think. And to get the orb on you'd have to sort of bend it. Now I definately don't want to do that. So temporarily I am using just a basic square heatsink and fan.
BTW my CPU is a TBird 1Ghz......
