Have you tried turning the ord around the other direction, i had to do that on one of my other motherboards, if that doesnt work, you can get some much better heatsinks, and fans, from either ocz.safeshopper.com or 3dfxcool.com most of them will fit.

I have tried to use a golden orb on my tbird 1.2 and when i booted into the bios my temp was 75 cel. way to high so i orderd the ocz monster 2 and the temp went way down, I also have the kt7a-raid board and this heatsink works great.

Yep..i think so too. Mine as well get another cooler, since the orbs doesn't do very good cooling and u don't want to damage ur board. Get a FOP38....although it sounds like a jet engine, but it really do good cooLing!! And the price is not bad too.

KT7A Motherboard

Okay thisis the motherboard I have....Nevermind the writing.

See just below were the CPU goes there are about 4 little transistors or something. I don't know what they are for sure. What other options do I have for fan and heatsink. The orbs aren't possible because it doesn't fit properly since those transistors are a little in the way. At least the one by itself is i think. And to get the orb on you'd have to sort of bend it. Now I definately don't want to do that. So temporarily I am using just a basic square heatsink and fan.

BTW my CPU is a TBird 1Ghz......

why do u need a heat sink or fan there i have the KT7A and i have my heastsinkfan on teh processor and a blue orb instead of the stock chipset fan. and mine runs fine.

btw profile wanst updated i am at 1008mhz (144*7) i see no need for anythign in that open space.

what are u talking about? He means he can't fit the orb on the processor cuz that 4 thing is blocking him, not a hsf on the resistor....
