Overclocking, plz help

Post by JIGA »

I currently have a Dell Demmensions Desktop P3 600mhz, 27gigHD, Diamond Viper Ultra TNT2 VC, SoundBlaster Live!, these are the only important things I will list. What I am asking is I want to overclock my motherboard and video card. Any info will help. Thx!

Hate to tell you but Dell uses Intel motherboards which are totally auto dectecting. Meaning there is no way to change the Front Side Bus. No jumpers on the motherboard at all. And Dell has sealed of the Front Side Bus setting from the motherboard so your out of luck most likely. Even if the FSB was shown I think they only make 100 and 66 avalible so your basically running at top right now.

There is a jumper on the Dell Mobo somewhere that will let you into the BIOS, in there you can set your own FSB and overclock your P-III to whatever speed is stable, if you go over 110mhz on the FSB get PC-133 RAM, cause that is where your 1st set of speed errors occur.

For overclocking your motherboard you could try SoftFSB, free from http://www.h-oda.com/, I know it supports AL440LX based boards so it may work for you.

Just a thought.
