gotta problem with my A drive, need help quick.

Post by anths »

I installed the detenator 12 drivers for my geforce 256, and now my A drive is reconized as a 5 1/4 drive with MS-DOS compatability. I just backed up my registry yesterday, so i merged that old registry with my new one, restarted... nothing was fixed. I am pretty pissed off about that, cause i have NO clue how i managed to pull it off! any help on changing my drive back to how it suppost to be?
Peace,
Anthony

I havent had a floppy in years, so here's a guess. Make sure that 'look for a new floppy drive' is checked in the system properties. Then unhook the floppy and make sure all the system knows it's gone. Now, shut down and replugin. Restart and see if that works... good luck!!

alright i fixed it. Somehow (and dont ask me if i even have a clue how) my bios was set to failsafe defaults, which in turn does not designate drive A to anything. once i switch A back over, it was fine. Thanks for the help, you guys are the best.
Peace,
Anthony
