Asus cusl2-c

Post by t »

I just installed this mobo with a P3-1 gig cpu. Everything went pretty smooth.
On startup I get "Initializing mba" then I get "Push N to boot from network".
In the bios, I can't set it to boot from the hard drive because of the Promise ata 66 controller.
Any ideas on how to make the ata 66 load first?
Thanks, tom
Sorry, I'm running w2k/p, 256 megs.ram

Why don't you ditch the promise card ?

That board has a built in ATA 100 controller (i'm using one myself). They are backward compatable with the 66 drives, so you shouldn't need it.

Btw, if you ever do happen to upgrade to an ATA 100 hard drive, be sure to load the controller drivers from the cdrom that came with you mobo.

Ok, do this...

Go into your bios, go to ADVANCED > PCI CONFIGURATION > ON BOARD LAN BOOT > [disable]

Next go to the BOOT menu. Your selections should be as follows:
1. Legacy Floppy
2. Hard Drive
3. Cdrom drive
4. Disabled

See if that does the trick.
