Labtop does not connect to WPA-PSK ?

Post by fernleaves »

Hi I got a Lenovo 3000 N200 Labtop Model 0769 and am having trouble connecting to my secure WPA-PSK wireless network in my house. One time it will connect the next time it won't. When I disable security it connects no problem eveytime. My dell desktop connects to the WPA-PSK fine.

Dunno if anyone else has this problem ? I use a 3com officeconnect router. Maybe it is the router and should opt for a Netgear or something ?

Thanks !

Can try updating the firmware....
Also try the native Windows WZC instead of the IBM/Lenovo connection manager.

Hey thanks for your suggestion. My system is updated.
I tried windows vista connection program and disabling the IBM software and got the same thing when I connected using WPA-PSK.

Could it be a hardware problem ?

Try updating your wireless chipset drivers.

Hey thanks steel. That seems to have done the trick.

I went to the intel site and got the latest driver for the wireless chip (Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG) which wan't on the Lenovo website yet (slackers). Also set the wireless function to maximum performance mode. Seems to be running smoothly now, hopefully it will be stable !

Thanks again !
