Well....where do I start? Oh I know. ATI customer support is ****ing stupid! I have been having a problem with my video card (Sapphire ATI Radeon HD2900 Pro) for about a week now and after MANY failed attempts I decided to call ATI support. The dumb-ass that I talked to just kept feeding me BS about how it was my internet connection. My ass. Well. The problem: I play Counter Strike 1.6 and I also have CS:S for my PC and when I upgraded to that video card CS:S preformed flawlessly on max settings. However when I play 1.6 it gets bad! I will join a server and I will move around and I will move too fast for the server. Therefore, to compensate; my video card will lag briefly for about a half a second. This gets very annoying because in 1.6...ALOT can happen in that half a second! It is most definitely not my net connection with a 15ping in NY servers (I live in Jersey) and no choke at all! Also when I hit "New Game" instead of joining a server it will just run fast. Like my timer and bomb plants, firing my gun...everything is twice as fast as it should be! I am desperate...someone please help me!
Side note: I have a CRT screen and with my old integrated video I would run CS 1.6 at 100fps on a 800x640 res with the refresh rate at 100Hz. But when I put my res to 1280x960 and 60Hz refresh rate(terrible refresh rate...not smooth at all!!!!) it will run without the skips and laggy glitch.
Wow. Please...anyone. Help me! I'm desperate.
Trust me. I've tried the drivers that came in the package, downloaded drivers from BOTH the ATI website AND the sapphire website, and even a third-party driver! I think it is definitely something to do with the output because when i change the resolution to 1280x960 and set the horizontal refresh rate to 60 it works but it isnt smooth looking at all. I used to have my integrated graphics and it ran 800x640 @100Hz with ease and no problems in all. There is something on the catalyst control center that i noticed that i believe may possibly be causing this; its in the "Display Options" and itSava700 wrote:Try updating the drivers? Most new driver releases go with patch updates and new releases of some games.
