daughter is in the hospital
daughter is in the hospital
busy week
My 6 month old daughter was admitted to the hospital on Monday with a 107F fever. Turns out she had 2 infections. One was a urinary tract infection (common in babies) and the other was ecoli infection in her blood. So as a result my poor little one has been in IV medications. Docs have no idea how she got the ecoli infection because usually its in the urine as well but that was not the case in this instance. The good news is that shes been fever free since yesterday! Doc's said that she has to be fever free for 7 days to 2 weeks before they are going to release her. My wife and I hope its before x-mas!
Anyways off i go back to the hospital!
At least this hospital has free wireless to keep me entertained!

During my last heart operation, I got a staph infection off of an IV line and I soared to 106 and was on deaths door.
doc said her temp was 42C which is about 107F
I was talking to the doctor about that. He says that babies can withstand higher temperature fevers then adults.

I wish you and her and all your family the best
I hit roughly 105 myself when I was less then a year old. Can't imagine what I would do if Zachary or Morgan got hit with something like that. How is she holding up right now?nightowl wrote:doc said her temp was 42C which is about 107F

Good to hear things are getting better and I'll continue to hope everything steadily improves.nightowl wrote:doc said her temp was 42C which is about 107F

Body temperatures tend to drop as you get older. 36.6 C is normal for an adult but 34, 35 C is not uncommon for an elderly persons temperature. That being said a higher temperature for a child is also to be expected which means when they do have a fever it isn't uncommon for it to be even higher. Just as dangerous though.
