Best in the world eh. Maybe you should stick to best in the USA. In the play fights they have with the Canadian pilots they loose.Gixxer wrote:have seen this before ... its a matter of opinion that this is the best fighter jet in the world ... even if this jet outperforms the raptor, without the pilot it's a paperweight and the us has the best pilots in the world
Now now.... they "loose" on purpose.blacklab wrote:Best in the world eh. Maybe you should stick to best in the USA. In the play fights they have with the Canadian pilots they loose.

Gosh!!!! You sure won that fight. Want to put some money on the next one?!?!?!

Sweet!!!!! How much down... and what are the monthly payments?UOD wrote:Japan has you all beat....
Since we won't deliver the F-22 to Japan, they said, screw you, we'll make our own but better.

Great camera work on that video.
See the canards working hard in some of those maneuvers.
The SU-27/30 Flanker came about a while ago, to beat current (at that time) Allied air superiority fighters..such as the aging F-15. And it did..hands down.
Doing somersaults without appreciable loss of altitude, impressive drop to zero speed times, and flat spins "on the spot"...she can be evasive..but it takes quite a pilot to wring it out of her. Russia isn't historically known for top pilot training.

bigmo..some basics are covered mid-section of this link...Unholy wrote:Does the pilot even matter anymore. Nowadays it's all about stealth and blowing away planes miles away before they even know you're there.

Seen the f22 fly tons of times, they use the same airport as vmfa142, my f18a+ squadron. An f16 can take off, turn around, and fly at 250 towards the idle f22 on the runway. The f22 guns its engines, kicks in thrust vectoring, and is behind the f16 all inside of 15 seconds.
The f22 is stealth capable, has the best flight systems in the world, and at save a lot of time is flat out the best aircraft in the world atm.
Seriously, if there is a air show next to you and the 22 is making an appearance by all means drop what your doing and go. If the pilot is allowed to really show it off it would put everything else to shame in your mind.

In light of this, and the Raptor's stealth capabilities, and speed, and the pilots...
I <3 USA.

The Raptor would smoke it! Like someone said, what good is maneuverability if we can engage it 20 miles out without being seen and blow it out of the sky before the pilot can even react!
Also what would you rather have? 2 of those falling apart in the air or a squadron of fully maintained Raptors?!

Pffft, the raptor is just a toy, how long till we just launch missles at everything?RoscoPColtrane wrote:The Raptor would smoke it! Like someone said, what good is maneuverability if we can engage it 20 miles out without being seen and blow it out of the sky before the pilot can even react!

Unmaned planes are here, its the next step. We are eliminating the need to have fighter jets and bombers.

US pilots set standards for other contries to follow period
As far as how good they are, google Willian Tell and Red Flag. These are two USAF training events. Used by US and NATO pilots (includes you Canadian). Alot of cash and training is spent on these Pilots each year. Before most US fighter pilots even get assigned to their 1st squadron.
I've heard that about 2 years and 1 million dollars are spent getting them that far. This figure is outdated, as it was a figure I heard nearly 20 years ago. Since I'm not a pilot, I could care less. I've heard it's closer to 4 or 10 mill, depending on what they fly. I am happy they do there job so well, when was the last time you heard about a plane getting shot down? I'm not talking about choppers, a plane? Nuff said.

LMAO, are you serious? How many enemy pilots has the US as a whole shot down in the last 20 years? Let alone just a small section of our Navy.YARDofSTUF wrote:How many enemy aircrafts have they shot down?
Nope the enemy pilots would rather bury their planes then meet our pilots in the skies.

"...who've just about ruined this planet because they're afraid someone might have a bigger dick out there somewhere. Men are basically insecure about the size of their dicks and so they go to war over it. You don't have to be a political scientist or a history major to see the bigger dick foreign policy theory at work. It goes something like this..."what they have bigger dicks? Bomb them!!!" And of course the bombs and the bullets and the rockets are all shaped like dicks. I don't understand that part of it, but it is part of the equation. " - George Carlin
