Anyone here live near Sacramento?

Post by Humboldt »

Heading east for a funeral Sunday night (my grandmother, may she rest in peace).

1 hour flight brings me into Sacramento airport at 8:30 PM, flight leaves the following morning at 6 AM

Get into Pennsylvania late Monday, funeral Tuesday morning, fly home Tuesday night.

Get into Sac 10:30 Tuesday night, sit until 8 AM the following morning for the 1 hour flight home (I could drive it in half the time).

If there's anything nightlife-wise even remotely near the airport than any suggestions welcome. Am thinking of taking a couple sleeping pills and sacking out in the airport but would hate to sleep through my departure.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother.....

That is a very long time between flights, plus you are already stressed.....

Thanks.

Nightlife might have been an exaggeration, just looking for anything to get me through the night alive without getting mugged or killing myself. I've spent about 3 hours in bars over the past 12 years.

A friend of my sister's I met a few times lives near there (18th St) and is going to pick me up Sunday night and I'll have the SuperShuttle pick me up in the morning. Floor space and a beer :thumb: , very nice of him. Did him a damn big favor about 16 years ago, looks like time to call it in.

On the way back Tuesday night I'll just see if I can shut the brain cells down enough to crash with my arms though the straps of my carry-on. Doubtful, but I'm not bothering with the laptop this time, just a bag of clothes with a couple books.

Love to meet you too Dan, will have to figure that out one of these days :thumb:

The best view of Sacramento is in your rear view mirror.

Pretty quiet place.

Between the airport and Denny's I'll take the airport any time.

Yeah. As far as airports go I think it's one of the better ones to be stuck in for 10+ hours. Smallish and low crime risk.

Not looking forward to it though. Been there, done that.
