Thanks in advance for any help.
My problem is this:
We are running windows XP Pro.
we have setup a backup to run on a network drive, but it never runs because the drive seems to be disconnected automatically.
I have run across an article in mircrosoft support, ID 297684 entitled
Mapped drive connection to Network share may be lost.
This seems to give a solution to the problem, however, they do not list windows XP Pro in the area where it says Applies to:
So I am left wondering if this solution would work in Windows XP and if not
then where do I find one that does!!!
Any help appreciated and again thanks in advance.

Sometime the Computer Browser Service will stop running and you must manually restart it via Services applet. The browser services is necessary else you cannot connect to a share.

Mapped Connection
Thanks for the replies, fellas, however, I think I need to research my problem more.
What I perceived to be the problem, the mapped connection being disconnected, is probably not the reason. Someone mentioned that Windows XP drops the connection if the online drive is not accessed for more than 15 minutes. If this is true then perhaps my online backup program is really the problem.
It is Microsoft's backup program, and it does do a back up on a usb drive directily attached to the receptionists computer. That is fine.
Two hours after doing the first back up it then is to do a second backup on this other online drive. But nothing happens.
I will have to do some more research so I can understand the problem better and ask more intelligent questions!!!!!!
Thanks for your time in replying.
