that is soo cool! ive never even heard of parachutes for planes... cept for the realy fast ones on short runways
Every normal man must be tempted at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
I often wonder if the voices in my head ever get frustrated because I'm just too damn lazy to climb that clock tower.

To be honest, they probably never found out who the other guy was. It caught the cable which a tow plane can release and leave wherever it drops.YARDofSTUF wrote:Whats with the other plane, was it in the wrong? fine? drunk flyer?
Who was in the wrong? I'm no investigator, but they both should have been watching out for each other. I'm guessing it would have been a 50/50 fault pending any other broken rules you can't see from the video (wrong altitude, etc).

This is the 2nd airplane in that story: http://www.cirrusdesign.com/Bastid wrote:that is soo cool! ive never even heard of parachutes for planes... cept for the realy fast ones on short runways![]()
They put them in ALL of their airplanes. There is debate on them, but that's another conversation.
going by what the guy said in the comments the glider which was being towed by the plane that was on the lft side of the screen had the right of way in France where that pilot was filming and said he was in the wrong.
I wondered why he stalled at first but bastid said the cable got caught. I didnt realize why on earth he would have stalled if the guy was not too close.

For one, I would NEVER read the "comments" of a YouTube video for any good info. It is true that gliders have the right of way, but this was the tow plane for the glider, not the glider itself. They are on a "level playing field", so to speak. (Unless I missed that the glider was still attached.)
Stalling in an airplane means the wing stops flying; not the engine stops running like a car engine stalls. Basically, when it stalls, it starts dropping just about straight down and that is a big no-no in a normal airplane. Aerobatic airplanes are made to recover so they can do that as part of their act.
Anyway, the guy filming was just as much in the wrong as the other guy, if not more. It would certainly ruin your day.

click the cnn one, it has more story to it... the first link is just the in-flight cam.
